Tropicana completes $50 million resort-wide revitalization this May

Multimedia Light and Sound Show & Fireworks kickoff event marks the start of an all-new Tropicana May 22.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Tropicana Atlantic City is ready to deliver more to its guests this summer with the completion of a $50 million renovation. The revitalization includes far-reaching upgrades to its North Tower hotel rooms, a completely renovated casino featuring new games, an all-new AtlantiCare LifeCenter Fitness center and the spectacular must-see Tropicana Multimedia Light and Sound Show.

“From the vibrant and exciting multimedia light and sound show on the boardwalk facade to the elegant upgrades we’ve made to the casino floor, we’ve taken the guest experience to a new level,” said General Manager Steve Callender. “We’ve even decided to introduce a brand new resort logo.”

The highlight of Tropicana’s all-encompassing renovation project is a jaw-dropping free multimedia light and sound show on the property’s re-imagined Boardwalk facade. Daily high energy and ever changing shows, massive LED screens, strobe lights and continuous digital media displays will light up the night in a must-see choreographed multimedia light and sound show.

The multi-million dollar revitalization includes a floor-to-ceiling makeover of Tropicana’s 434 North Tower hotel rooms. Hotel and convention guests will enjoy a comfortable and inviting new atmosphere created by the modern design featuring new lighting and expansive bathrooms.

The renovation also boasts a complete transformation of the North Tower casino floor, creating an all-new upscale modern look and feel. The new layout includes the addition of 10 North, a new lounge with a double-sided fireplace, cozy seating and bar-top slot machines, will serve all of your favorite libations and is scheduled to debut in July.

Four new retail locations located in The Quarter will welcome renowned travel outfitter Tumi, women’s boutique Marshall Russo, designer watch and jewelry purveyor Time After Time and athletic wear from Step up.

Through a partnership with AtlantiCare, the AtlantiCare LifeCenter Fitness at Tropicana opens May 8. This two-story, 12,455 square-foot fitness center will offer hotel guests and the public the latest fitness equipment, programming and amenities  including locker rooms and showers, as well as studios dedicated for Yoga/Pilates, group indoor cycling and cardiovascular exercise classes. Guests will enter through The Quarter entrance near Starbucks or from Brighton Avenue.

Casino Reinvestment and Development Authority together with Tropicana has funded these projects.

“Tropicana’s innovative renovations keep them at the forefront of the effort to give our visitors more reasons to come to Atlantic City,” said John Palmieri, Executive Director of the CRDA. “We salute their proactive stance, and we can’t wait to see these exciting new attractions.”
