TUI Blue opens its first 5-star hotel in Italy’s Castelfalfi

The newly built hotel is a further milestone on TUI’s growth roadmap.

TENUTA DI CASTELFALFI – With Il Castelfalfi – TUI Blue Selection, TUI Group’s new hotel brand is opening its first 5-star hotel in Italy. The luxury hotel in the heart of Tuscany does not only offer exclusive services for its guests, but also renders a major contribution to reviving the medieval hamlet Castelfalfi.

"With the opening of the youngest member in our TUI Blue hotel portfolio, we are achieving a further milestone on our growth path today. TUI BLUE is one of the core brands of TUI’s portfolio of Group-owned hotels," said Sebastian Ebel, member of TUI Group’s Executive Board in charge of Hotels and Cruises. "The hotel business is one of the key areas in TUI Group’s transformation to an integrated tourism group.”

The Il Castelfalfi – TUI Blue Selection hotel, set in pristine Mediterranean nature, is an attractive destination for holidaymakers seeking relaxation, for golfers and gourmets as well as travellers interested in art and culture. With 112 rooms and 8 suites in the authentic local style, the 5-star hotel is the first newly built hotel in the portfolio of the hotel brand that only made its debut last year.

"Within just one year, we have expanded our TUI BLUE portfolio to six hotels in five countries," said Artur Gerber, Managing Director TUI Blue, reviewing the progress delivered this far. "I am delighted that we now also offer a resort in the 5-star segment with our new hotel in Castelfalfi. By adding “TUI Blue Selection" to the hotel name, we will mark our selection of 5-star hotels in unique locations offering excellent service and quality standards of the highest level".

Il Castelfalfi- TUI Blue Selection is located between Pisa, Florence and Siena. It forms part of Toscana Resort Castelfalfi, featuring a golf course as well as the resort's own country estate with a high-quality winery and olive oil production. In the past few years, a trattoria, exclusive holiday homes, a boutique hotel, a gourmet restaurant, a swimming pool as well as numerous local shops were built in the medieval village. With its authentic gourmet cuisine and the 1,000 sqm spa, the TUI Blue hotel will also contribute to reviving the formerly abandoned village.
