UK debut for niu: NOVUM Hospitality plans niu Hotel in Manchester

Manchester.

NOVUM is planning a 135-room hotel under the millennial brand niu in an extremely central location in Queens Road, Cheetham Hill.

In the wake of top locations in the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland, NOVUM Hospitality is now taking its next expansion step in Europe with its brand niu. NOVUM Hospitality intends to conquer the British isles, with Mancunians set to be welcomed to the “first niu hotel in town” very soon! Initially, the family-run hotel group is focusing on Manchester: a new and thoroughly lucrative market. In partnership with British developer Fortus Properties, NOVUM is planning a 135-room hotel under the millennial brand niu in an extremely central location in Queens Road, Cheetham Hill. The niu hotel therefore takes its place among a portfolio of around 45 niu project developments comprising approximately 10,000 rooms within the next 2-3 years. The Manchester opening is scheduled for the end of 2019.

“There is major potential for the custom midscale concept in Manchester and there are many prospects for completions. We are delighted about securing this location in the UK and have our sights on further European metropolises,” explains David Etmenan, Chief Executive Officer & Owner of NOVUM Hospitality. In unconventional niu style, NOVUM Hospitality will continue to apply its policy of designing its interior with a nod to the neighbourhood in Manchester as well.

This design concept will be complemented by social and cultural collaboration with the charity Viva con Agua. True to the motto, “Urban art goes niu”, selected artists who are engaged in the project by Viva con Agua Arts and the Millerntor Gallery come to niu hotels and design artistic interior murals for a good cause. Profits go to the water initiative’s water and sanitation projects: the current beneficiary is the Viva con Agua project in Uganda.
