CASTRIES, SAINT LUCIA – The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) has successfully completed the second “Say Yes to Saint Lucia” Global Romance Summit for travel agents and operators from October 5 through 9, 2023.

Some 30 travel agents from Saint Lucia’s three top source markets including the UK, U.S. and Canada were hosted. The event featured two parts, the first was a series of special events to showcase the island’s offerings in weddings, honeymoons and group trips.

Lorine Charles-St.Jules, CEO of SLTA said: “Saint Lucia is renowned as the world’s leading honeymoon destination.  At our second summit, we have created a dedicated platform to showcase what Saint Lucia offers for all love-themed holidays such as, but not limited to, destination weddings, romantic getaways, vow renewals and of course, honeymoons. We look forward to this becoming an annual event due to its popularity.”

The Romance Summit began with a Weddings and Events Professional Workshop, offering travel advisors the opportunity to gain valuable insights into all the elements of wedding planning. The featured guest speaker, wedding industry educator René Dalo, gave an informational and motivating presentation to the crowd.

It was followed by the Celebration Expo, held at The Harbor Club, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Rodney Bay attended by over 300 people. The event featured 45 booths from hotels, villas and resorts as well as local suppliers such as caterers, entertainers, event planners, florists and décor experts. All gave inspiration and information on the different ways to celebrate a loved one or special occasion in Saint Lucia.  New for this year were a selection of break out live sessions offering masterclasses in make-up, wardrobe planning, cake tastings and event planning essentials. The day culminated in a pool-side bridalwear fashion show of local designers and outlets.

The fam trip itinerary for the agents featured visits to signature Saint Lucian experiences such as the mud baths, Bachelorette Bar Hop, Gros Islet street party and a Catamaran cruise. Agents were hosted at Sandals Grande St. Lucian and Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa, along with site inspections at properties including Anse Chastanet; Cap Maison; Calabash Cove; Harbor Club St. Lucia, Curio Collection by Hilton; Jade Mountain; Ladera; Sandals Halycon; Sugar Beach – A Viceroy Resort; and Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort.
