Panama City Beach reports boost in tourism for May 2023

The Visit Panama City Beach marketing team leveraged new creative campaigns to connect with potential visitors and entice summer travel, including a targeted broadcast campaign that showcased real families enjoying a variety of exciting experiences throughout in the destination.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLA.– Visit Panama City Beach and the Bay County Tourist Development Council announce collections for the month of May 2023 were up 1.2% compared to May 2022, and the destination is currently up 2.1% for the fiscal year, which began in October 2022.

“Our continued success has brought an energy and excitement to Panama City Beach that is contagious for both our visitors and the entire community,” shares Visit Panama City Beach President and CEO Dan Rowe. “As we continue to focus on growth and expanding our many accommodation, attraction and dining offerings, we look forward to welcoming new and returning visitors to Panama City Beach throughout the rest of 2023 and beyond.”

In addition, Visit Panama City Beach further expanded its Moms Who PCB campaign to welcome moms for an unforgettable Mother’s Day getaway. Public relations outreach for May focused on the destination’s Fun.For.All. accessible travel initiative and sports tourism.

The Tourist Development Tax is a five percent tax on short-term rentals including hotels and condominiums. The tax funds marketing and promotional activities led by the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau. It is also used for beach cleaning and grooming, product improvement and beach renourishment.
