Ras Al Khamiah is one of the fastest growing destinations in the world. Last year was a record breaking year which saw a 24% year-on-year rise in international visitors to reach an incredible 1.2m.
RAS AL KHAIMAH, UAE – During an official visit to Ras Al Khamiah yesterday, WTTC President & CEO Julia Simpson gave a keynote speech at the IHG IMEA General Managers Conference alongside His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr al Qasimi.
Addressing delegates, Simpson said: “Right now, this is one of the fastest growing destinations in the world. Last year was a record breaking year for Ras Al Khaimah. It saw a 24% year-on-year rise in international visitors to reach an incredible 1.2m.
“It is a credit to the vision of His Highness, Sheikh Saud, and the hard work of Raki Phillips and his team at the Tourism Development Authority.”
Simpson closed her speech by congratulating His Highness and the Tourism Development Board for placing Travel & Tourism at the top of the agenda, having a steely focus on sustainability and digitalisation.
