SAN FRANSISCO – The San Francisco Travel Association, the official destination marketing organization for the City and County of San Francisco, has promoted Julie Van’t Hul to Vice President of Convention Sales. In her new role, Van’t Hul will collaborate with The Moscone Center and the City of San Francisco to bring major conventions and events to San Francisco.

Van’t Hul brings over two decades of hospitality leadership experience to the role, including six years at San Francisco Travel as Director, Citywide Accounts. Prior to joining the organization, Van’t Hul held positions at Choose Chicago as well as Starwood, Marriott, and Kimpton hotels.

“Julie has been instrumental in re-engaging and re-educating our convention clients about San Francisco in the wake of the pandemic,” said Nicole Rogers, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer at San Francisco Travel. “Her leadership and guidance have helped propel the city and San Francisco Travel forward over the past few years and have no doubt set her up for success as she takes on this vital leadership position within our organization.”

The tourism industry is the largest generator of outside revenue into San Francisco’s economy, and conventions alone drove $587 million in visitor spending in 2022.
