69% of people are feeling immense stress about holiday travel

AreaVibes surveyed over 1,000 people about their proximity from immediate family, who they tend to favor and where they run off to when long-stay visits are a must.

Overpriced plane tickets and obnoxious layovers aren’t the worst parts of holiday travel. Sometimes too much quality time with our relatives can be problematic.

AreaVibes surveyed over 1,000 people about their proximity from immediate family, who they tend to favor and where they run off to when long-stay visits are a must.

Key takeaways:

  • Unnecessary conflict? 22% of people opt for an Airbnb when stuck visiting their siblings
  • Respondents set aside time to see their grandparents 4x each year (a very sad discovery)
  • Nearly 28% of baby boomers said they only visit relatives for less than a day, while over 18% of millennials are happy to crash on a couch for a week or longer.
