Andalusia will host the first global congress on smart cruises

The Auditorium of the Aquarium of the Port of Seville will host the I International Congress of Cruise Tourism of Andalusia, 29 & 30 October. Living a Smart Cruise Experience is the motto of a congress in which innovation and technology will be the pillars of the conference program.

Suncruise Andalucía, the Association for the Promotion of Andalusia as a Cruise Destination, in which the port authorities of Algeciras, Almería, Cádiz, Huelva, Málaga, Motril and Seville are integrated, launches the I International Congress of Cruise Tourism in Andalusia.

This event is one of the main actions of the 2020-2021 Strategic Plan prepared by Suncruise Andalucía. With its celebration it is intended to reinforce the relationship of the ports with the territory, the sustainability and accessibility of cruise tourism and, also, its evolution towards intelligent infrastructures where leisure is the protagonist.

The organization considers that the celebration of this event is now more important than ever in order to show the unity and strength of the Andalusian tourism sector, as well as provide knowledge and innovation in order to prepare the business fabric to start in the best possible position with a view to the future recovery of tourist demand.

Likewise, the Congress aims to place the ports of Andalusia on the world cruise scene and position them as a benchmark in southern Europe, this being the only Atlantic Mediterranean coast.

The event will attract the attention of companies Shipping companies, especially boutique ones, transport and logistics companies, architecture and engineering studios, industry associations, hotels and catering providers, environmental and technology companies, startups, universities and research centers or specialized press, among others.

Not surprisingly, innovation and technology will be the pillars of the event, in a context in which we are faced with an increasingly digitized client and in which tourist intelligence tools allow personalized knowledge of the traveler, which in turn look for a personalized experience.

In this sense, the search for the “boutique cruise” and integration with the destination offer are fundamental keys to designing an optimal experience that meets and exceeds the expectations of a customer with greater purchasing power.

The cruise industry of the 21st century today revolves around three factors: smart infrastructure, digitized tourists and technology linked to data visualization and analytics.

For this reason, 2020 will witness a new, different, dynamic and innovative Congress model, which will have the participation of top-level professionals from all over the world.

The content of the event will be divided into three thematic blocks:

Track 1: "Technology and intelligent data management"

In block 1 we will talk about the need to make the current management of ports and destinations evolve hand in hand of technology.

Track 2. "Technology and Sustainability"

In this block we’ll analyze Sustainable management in its environmental aspect and the application of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the circular economy in cruise tourism will.

Track 3. "New Experiences: building the future"
In this block we will see the importance of devising friendly experiences with the territory, linked both to it and to its people, following the principles of the "legacy" in tourism. The challenge will be for the large cruise companies and small providers of experiences in the destination to align themselves to generate authentic experiences with a positive social impact on residents.
