Beach essentials: How to properly pack for your summer vacation

We’ve compiled a list of things that we think will come in handy on any summer trip and you can read more for quality advice!

Summer is a time of summer vacations, beach trips, and parties out in the open. It's also the time when you need to pack your bag for all these activities. Planning ahead is key! You don't want to be stuck without an important piece of clothing or accessory when you need it. So what are the essentials? What should you bring and not forget? We've compiled a list of things that we think will come in handy on any summer trip and you can read more for quality advice!

Pack a well-fitting bathing suit, flip-flops, and a hat
The bathing suit is an obvious accessory, but often the one most easily forgotten in the packing stage. You should pack a suit that fits you well and one in which you feel comfortable. A bathing suit is the beach's best accessory! Pack flip-flops for comfort while walking on hot sand or climbing through tide pools. Also, don't forget to bring a hat- whether wide-brimmed or not – to shield your head from harsh sun rays. Even if you don't have these accessories at home, they can be found at pretty affordable prices at places like https://www.swagbucks.com/shop/shein-coupons and others. Just choose your style and you're ready to go!

The beach can be an ideal vacation spot with so many different activities available to visitors who want some beach time in their vacation itinerary. If relaxation is what you seek then beach reading material such as books, newspapers, magazines are essential items along with sunscreen lotion for protection against UV light exposure (the number one reason people get skin cancer). It also never hurts to have some money hidden away in your beach bag in the event you need to buy something.

Bring an inflatable raft or tube for floating in the water
When looking to have fun on the beach, inflatable rafts and tubes are perfect. Especially if you are traveling with your whole family. They are inexpensive, lightweight, easy to inflate, and provide hours of enjoyment! Make sure that when you bring one with you on your vacation it's not too small so everyone can fit inside without having their feet touch the sand.

Rafts and tubes can be used in hotel resort pools as well, so you surely won't regret bringing them with you!

Also, if your inflatable raft gets a hole in it while you are out there playing around with friends and family, you can simply fix it so you don't have to worry.

Bring sunglasses and sunscreen
Taking care of your well-being is one of the most important things you can do on your vacation. Protecting yourself from sun damage is essential for safe travels and enjoy beach time, so pack sunglasses that won't break during a swim or while packing sunscreen to keep those rays at bay.

Sunglasses are an absolute must when spending any amount of quality time outdoors because they protect your eyes (and more importantly your skin) from harmful UV radiation, which causes premature aging and wrinkles in the skin around them. When looking for sunglasses choose ones with 100% UVA/UVB protection; polarized lenses will also help to keep the glare off water surfaces or TV screens by blocking light waves vibrating perpendicularly to their polarization axis.

Sunscreen is also a must because it protects your skin from harmful UV radiation that causes sunburn, premature aging, and wrinkles. When choosing the best sunscreen for beach time look for those with SPF 30 or higher (SPFs of 50-70 are even better), an "PA" rating of at least 15, broad-spectrum coverage to protect against both UVA/UVB rays and water resistance so they're not easily removed by sweat or ocean saltwater.

Bring an extra pair of clothes in case your bags get lost
Bringing extra clothes on you is a good idea just in case your bags get lost. Even if you're not sure what to bring, pack a few extra shirts and pants for the vacation. This way you have clothes that fit even without any washing machine nearby.

Luggage can get lost in the airport, at hotels, and during vacation. It can also be stolen, so never bring it with you, or leave behind really valuable things.

Make sure you have all the necessary toiletries and medication
No one can predict what can happen on vacation so it's best that you be prepared. Before you head out on your trip, be sure to make a list of medication that is necessary for the next few weeks. Ask yourself:

  • What medication do I take regularly?
  • Do I have any prescriptions from my doctor or dentist?
  • Does anything need refills during this time period?

There are plenty of things we all forget at home when traveling abroad. These items range from toothpaste and antibiotic cream for sunburns to prescription medication and even toiletries like shampoo and conditioner. It's always best to not leave these behind because there will definitely come a point where it may be difficult to find what you're looking for in another country (or state).

Pack a small cooler with snacks
Bringing food to the beach is a must-do. The key here is to pack small, easy snacks like cut fruit and granola bars that don't need refrigeration or cooking. Pack your cooler with some water bottles as well so you can stay refreshed without having to leave the sand for too long!

If you are not the kind of person that likes bringing food, you can always buy food directly on the beach. Most tourist-popular beaches have food sellers so it's not gonna be a problem.

Packing a lot of things is not a good idea
Overpacking is a real problem for a lot of people. Probably worrying that they will not have enough, people tend to pack huge amounts of stuff for short holidays.

Moreover, it's hard to find anything, you have no room in your suitcase for souvenirs from the trip, and it ends up wasting time when you are trying to get out of there at the end of your vacation.

The key is packing light so that everything goes well on the way over and back home again. This way you won't have to struggle with your oversized and overweight bags as well.

We hope this list of packing tips has been helpful. Of course, there are numerous other things that are important when you are traveling for vacation, but we focused on basic items for the beach everyone should have.

Now go ahead and enjoy your time off with no worries about what clothes or accessories you should bring because you’ve got all the essentials covered!
