Budapest Airport names Wizz Air’s 10th new link of 2017

Budapest Airport confirms Wizz Air’s 10th new link of 2017, announcing a twice weekly service to Bordeaux, set to commence on 22 September.

Budapest Airport is celebrating Wizz Air’s 10th new route announcement of the year, naming Bordeaux as the ultra-low-cost carrier’s latest link. With flights due to commence from 22 September, the twice-weekly service will join Wizz Air’s expanding Hungarian route network, becoming its 62nd destination served from Budapest.

Experiencing its busiest ever January, Budapest recorded an exceptional 17% increase in passenger traffic growth last month. Adding the sixth French airport to be served from Hungary’s capital city, the gateway’s largest carrier continues to contribute to the expansion of Budapest’s route map and strengthens France’s position as the airport’s sixth largest country market.

Balazs Bogats, Head of Airline Development, Budapest Airport commented: “It’s great to be able to confirm another new destination with Wizz Air, and another airport in France to become linked with Budapest later this year.” He added: “Having experienced high demand on the airline’s service to Nice in the last 12 months, we expect Bordeaux to prove just as popular, especially with travellers looking for the perfect long weekend break.”
