Five amazing family vacations for 2021

These are some top selections for the finest family vacations in the United States in 2021.

A new year brings resolutions, perhaps a diet, and another 52 weeks to fill with family vacations. There is also an extra day to plan trips with because 2021 is a leap year. Do you need some suggestions for fun locations to visit? These are some top selections for the finest family vacations in the United States in 2021.

1. A family cruise
After last year you might want to go big with your vacation this year. Why not go all out on a cruise? Aside from the amazing destinations, your family can see, cruises offer some things other vacations can't. Imagine unpacking once and letting the destinations come to you. On a cruise, you unpack once; no worrying if you remembered everything back in the last hotel room.

It's great to be on adventurous cruises for kids. A good cruise to take your kids on are Alaska cruises. There are endless activities, games, and entertainment to keep the little ones occupied until your ship makes port. Kids and parents alike will be sleeping well after a day onboard.

2. Park City, Utah
Park City is a popular skiing and snowboarding resort in North America, having the largest lift-accessible ski terrain. In 2021, youngsters (and other beginners) will be able to learn the fundamentals at Park City Mountain's new High Meadow Park, a dedicated learning area with wide-open, moderate slopes that are perfect for beginners. The new Woodward Park City, indoor-outdoor action sports and ski resort, features Utah's longest snow tubing lanes, a variety of routes for beginners to specialists, and indoor and outdoor skateboarding, BMX, and scooter facilities.

Visit Utah Olympic Park, which was developed for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, to discover what winter sports are like at the highest level. A guided tour of the 400-acre facility is available for the entire family, including stops at the world's highest Nordic ski jumps. The Discovery Zone has a playground and climbing equipment for small children, while teens can zipline or try the ropes courses. Park City is also a great place to visit at other times of the year, with a variety of hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities to choose from.

3. Plymouth, Massachusetts
Plymouth Plantation, a living history museum, offers a glimpse into life for the Pilgrims, with costumed interpreters, heritage-breed animals, and a full-scale replica of the Mayflower (the ship that transported the Pilgrims to America).
Families can go whale-watching or lobstering, explore a cranberry bog, visit the petting zoo at the Sheriff of Plymouth County's farm, and spend time on the sand at Plymouth Beach, in addition to learning about the area's history. Take a short ferry to Provincetown, on Cape Cod's point, where the Pilgrims initially landed before moving on to Plymouth. This fact is commemorated with a monument with dramatic views of the Cape.

4. Branson, Missouri
In 2021, this Midwest family vacation hotspot will welcome a slew of new attractions, including the debut of Payne's Valley, Tiger Woods' first public-design golf course, which will be named after the late golfer and Ozarks native Payne Stewart.

The Aquarium at the Boardwalk is also coming to Branson, Missouri, in 2021. The 46,000-square-foot aquarium will have a Jellyfish Infinity Room, Mermaid Palace, underwater passageways, and a simulated submarine voyage, which will be greeted by a big false octopus. These new additions will join the Branson Ferris Wheel, Branson Mountain Adventure Park, and Branson's Wild World, which already provide a diverse range of family-friendly entertainment.

5. Hershey, Pennsylvania
The Hershey's chocolate company was founded in this oh-so-sweet Pennsylvania town. Its Hersheypark, which began as "leisure grounds" for Hershey's Chocolate Factory employees, has grown into a major theme park with a new Hershey's Chocolatetown opened in summer 2020. The $150 million expansion contains the park's tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster, the Candymonium, as well as the park's largest themed restaurant, an ice cream shop with "personal ice cream ologists".

Now is the time to plan that amazing vacation! From cruises to ski slopes, make this a good year to remember.
