ITB Berlin NOW: High demand by international exhibitors for the digital meet-up of the travel industry

The virtual platform for business, networking, content and news is online now. Over 2,800 companies from 120 countries have already registered. Exhibitors can choose from four virtual service packages and will receive unlimited free tickets for guests.

From 9 to 12 March 2021 ITB Berlin NOW will be offering tourism service providers from around the world a wealth of online functions, enabling them to meet up virtually, exchange ideas, do business and make the most of their B2B trade show experience, wherever they are in the world. With more than 2,800 tourism companies from 120 countries already registered, the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show is entering the busiest phase in the run-up to the event. The prospects for success are good. Exhibitors can register until 8 March, and thanks to smart matching technology can set up one-on-one meetings with relevant partners, group video chats, explore theme worlds in virtual cafes or follow lectures by leading experts and industry figures at the ITB Berlin NOW Convention.

On Monday, 8 March there will be a soft opening to enable all attendees to test the platform one day before the event begins and to get used to all the main functions. The platform is easy to navigate and tailored to tourism professionals’ needs, so that they can make use of the World’s Largest Travel Trade Show in order to network, negotiate deals and get information on the latest industry developments. Exhibitors can already access ITB Berlin NOW in order to make the best possible preparations for their visit. Even after the event closes, content will remain online until 31 May 2021, allowing participants to still find important information and contacts, evaluate their attendance and access content from the ITB Berlin NOW Convention.

Business – Networking – Content – News: those are the four key elements of ITB Berlin NOW, which this year is digitally connecting the global travel industry. After logging in to ITB Berlin NOW participants find themselves directly in a virtual lobby. In addition to useful tutorials, it contains all the information they need on the platform’s main content. This includes an overview of live sessions at the ITB Berlin NOW Convention, information on a dedicated networking area with suggested contacts, as well as on virtual cafes and the exhibitor Showfloor area. “With ITB Berlin NOW we have created an innovative platform for tourism professionals everywhere, who over four days will be able to focus on business, networking and updating their knowledge”, said David Ruetz, head of ITB Berlin. “Whether by providing smart matching technology with our so-called Discovery Graph, inspirational showcases or expert discussions, in this extraordinary year we are offering our exhibitors and visitors a wide range of options, enabling them to make the most of their time at the virtual ITB.“

Information and dates at a glance
Inside the platform’s Navigation area, exhibitors can find all the main trade show content and access all other areas of ITB Berlin NOW. Under My ITB, users can manage their personal calendar, make a note of programme sessions at the ITB Berlin NOW Convention, or save calling cards from important business partners. Using the integrated full text search, they can easily find other exhibitors, attendees, sessions, products and press conferences. Inside the Show Floor area, exhibitors with a Brand Card can be individually represented with their latest products, links and additional information. Depending on the exhibitor package they have booked, various communication options, real-time lead reports and statistics are available to them. Inside the Showroom, exhibitors can present their latest news daily via an audio/video room. They can also easily invite guests from their networking circle who have not registered for ITB Berlin NOW, thus giving them free access to their Brand Card. Exhibitors can provide customers and partners with individual free voucher codes for an unlimited number of guest tickets. That way, guests can participate in their activities such as press conferences or showroom presentations free of charge.

Networking made easy
The Communication Center is where visitors can control communications with other participants, where they can also find interesting partners, exchange calling cards, chat individually or in groups. The third area of the platform features ITB Berlin NOW’s networking options. With the help of a special algorithm-based Discovery Graph users can find existing contacts or establish new ones based on common interests. Virtual cafes, which like the platform are open 24 hours a day, offer all kinds of opportunities to meet up and talk. They can be accessed publicly or exclusively upon request, in which case a particular group of people can hold an audio/video call in a Meeting Corner. By distributing virtual Goodie Bags, exhibitors can offer partners, visitors and customers extra benefits with vouchers and discount codes.

ITB Berlin NOW also has a Service & Support page for customers, which can be accessed from the platform’s navigation bar at support.itb-now.com. It is open to all registered and non-registered users.

Once ITB Berlin NOW has ended, exhibitors can use the Back Office to obtain various statistics and evaluate their activities. This enables an easy and direct analysis of the number of visitors to the Showroom, meeting requests and recommendations, for example.

Tourism service providers who want to present their products and innovations at ITB Berlin NOW can choose from Starter, Plus, All-In and All-In for Destinations servicepackages. Depending on the package, services include tickets, access to sessions at the ITB Berlin NOW Convention, networking via audio/video calls and useful statistical analyses. ITB Berlin NOW is also offering an All-In Destinations package specifically for tourist boards, which lets co-exhibitors register with their own Brand Card.
