ABPCO’s March TechNOphobia workshop to focus on webinars and mobile applications

Aimed at PCOs and event organisers, the TechNOphobia workshops have been developed to demonstrate the association’s ongoing mission to provide members with added value through education.

Registration has opened for the March TechNOphobia workshop organised by the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO).

The workshop, which takes place at The Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester, on Tuesday 25 March, will look at the benefits of webinars and mobile applications, two important aspects of technology which can have a major impact on events.

Organised by ABPCO Executive Member Martin Jack from Think Different Events, the workshop will focus on;

  • Webinars – the technical aspects of setting them up, and what makes a good webinar; content and interaction.
  • Mobile Applications (Apps) for the events sector.

The session will look at some of the options available, and give time for interactive discussion about how PCO’s can effectively utilise the technologies.

Aimed at PCOs and event organisers, the TechNOphobia workshops have been developed to demonstrate the association’s ongoing mission to provide members with added value through education. In particular the workshop will offer an ‘amnesty’ to those who may be less familiar with new technologies but keen to understand more in order to advise clients on how to leverage these tools at their conferences and events.

Martin Jack says: “It’s important for PCO’s to be able to advise their clients on the technology that can enhance their events. Webinars and mobile applications are becoming increasingly popular and a focus on these areas during our next TechNOphobia workshop will help PCOs take advantage of the benefits they offer the meetings industry. The event is open to anybody and we encourage PCOs to attend and receive hands on experience with webinars and mobile applications and share their experiences and ask questions with their peers.”
