Adare Manor named “Ireland’s No. 1 Parkland Course” by Golf Digest Ireland

Adare Manor has received several other awards and honors during the past 12 months in addition to Golf Digest, including the Conde Nast Traveler "Best in the World" Gold & Platinum lists, the Conde Nast Traveler "Top Foreign Golf Resort" list, Travel+Leisure magazine's “Top 500 Hotels in the World” award.

ADARE VILLAGE, COUNTY LIMERICK, IRELAND – The Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed golf course at Adare Manor, the luxury resort located near the city of Limerick close to Shannon International Airport, has been named “Ireland’s Number 1 Parklands Course.” The honor came from Golf Digest Ireland magazine. This is the seventh consecutive year Adare Manor received the award.

The internationally acclaimed 18-hole Championship Course at Adare Manor is a world favorite with professionals, amateurs and celebrities, playing proud host to the JP McManus Invitational Pro Am and the Irish Open. The course was opened in 1995, and is set amid magnificent mature trees and incorporating many aquatic features, including a 14-acre lake anchoring the front nine holes and The River Maigue which meanders through the entire golf course. The course record of 64 was shot by Lee Westwood during the Irish Open 2008. The golf course measures 7,453 yards (the shortest route round amounts to 5,082 yards) and occupies 230 acres of lush Irish countryside.

“We are delighted to be named the No.1 Parkland course in Ireland” said Anita Higgins, general manager of Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort. “Our team is very proud of our course and ensures that it is always at its best. This reflects the ethos of unparalleled excellence of service and facilities across the whole resort.” Ms. Higgins concluded with, “We cater to all ideas of luxury here at Adare Manor, from Golfer’s paradise to culinary heaven and pampering bliss – we’re a hole-in-one.”

Adare Manor Golf Pro, Gary Howie, added, “Robert Trent Jones Sr. left the best until last in designing his last major course here at Adare Manor. Learning from all of his other courses, he created a masterpiece of international acclaim at Adare Manor, which is testament to this seven-in-a-row win in the Golf Digest Awards.”

Adare Manor has received several other awards and honors during the past 12 months in addition to Golf Digest, including the Conde Nast Traveler “Best in the World” Gold & Platinum lists, the Conde Nast Traveler “Top Foreign Golf Resort” list, Travel+Leisure magazine’s “Top 500 Hotels in the World” award, “Ireland’s Leading Hotel” designation by the World Travel Awards, TripAdvisor’s “Certificate of Excellence for 2012,” and the property’s selection as a Fodor’s Choice Resort.
