Aeroflot, the Group’s premium flagship carrier, triumphed in four nominations, winning airline of the year in the International Scheduled Services category once again, as well as the Russian Airline of the Year – Passenger Choice title, which gives passengers the opportunity to vote on the quality of service they receive. Aeroflot also took first place in the Best Engineering and Technical Service and E-Commerce nominations. Aeroflot is Russia’s leading online retailer, selling RUB 130 billion worth of tickets through its website alone in 2016.

For the second year running, Aeroflot’s low-cost carrier Pobeda has won Project of the Year, for the continued efficiency and innovation that the classic budget carrier business model has successfully introduced to Russian civil aviation. Aurora, Aeroflot Group’s carrier in the Russian Far East, has won the Air Transportation on Regional Routes category.

The Wings of Russia awards were established 20 years ago to attract public attention to the achievements of Russian airlines, help develop the professional community, empower the image of Russian civil aviation in the global arena, and create a favourable investment climate for the industry.
