The carrier will operate the flights with Alaska Airlines Boeing 737s, Bombardier Q400 turboprop aircraft operated by Horizon Air and 70-seat CRJ-700 regional jets flown by SkyWest Airlines.
SEATTLE – Alaska Airlines begins daily nonstop flights this week to seven new destinations from Salt Lake City while also expanding existing service between Utah’s capital and Seattle.
The new flying begins with service to Portland, Oregon. Over the next 10 days, additional flights will commence from Salt Lake City to Boise, Idaho; Los Angeles; Las Vegas; San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose, California.
Alaska is also adding a third daily flight between Seattle and Salt Lake.
“We’re proud to offer Salt Lake City residents award-winning service, low fares, a customer-friendly frequent flier program and convenient flights to several great western destinations,” said Joe Sprague, senior vice president of communications and external relations. “Salt Lake is located about 600 miles from our expansive West Coast network, and these new routes offer travelers easy connections on us and our 12 international airline partners.”

Mileage Plan members enjoy generous availability on award redemptions, one-way travel awards, and no minimum spend requirement to reach elite status.
Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan also rewards customers with elite status faster than any other frequent flier program. Elite-level status is earned for as little as 20,000 miles a year for travel on Alaska Airlines only. Elite-level status begins at 25,000 miles for customers who wish to combine travel on multiple airlines.

Alaska Airlines began serving Salt Lake City in April 2013 with two daily flights from Seattle.
