Alaska to fly from Seattle to JFK

The new service complements Alaska's existing twice-daily service to Newark Liberty International Airport.

SEATTLE – Alaska Airlines is launching daily nonstop service from Seattle to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport starting Sept. 16. The new service complements Alaska’s existing twice-daily service to Newark Liberty International Airport. JFK is the main hub for international flights serving New York City, giving Alaska customers more options to Europe and other global destinations on its partner airlines.

“Our new service to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport provides our valued customers greater access to the nation’s largest market,” said John Kirby, the airline’s vice president of capacity planning. “Alaska offers three times more daily flights than any other airline from our hometown of Seattle and serves the top 25 destinations for business travelers.”

“Alaska does a tremendous job getting Northwest travelers to where they need to go, whether for business or personal travel,” said Seattle Mayor Ed Murray. “Adding direct flights to JFK is another example of them helping Seattle flyers connect conveniently not just to New York City, but destinations around the globe.”

“The New York area is an important destination for Pacific Northwest travelers, and I’m glad to see Alaska add this key route. Alaska’s extensive network continues to be a key component of the Seattle area’s economic growth engine,” said U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell, (D-WA), ranking member on the Senate Subcommittee on aviation, operations and security.
