All U.S. airlines resume nonstop flight service to Costa Rica and new service announcements

Costa Rica’s international airports, Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR), reopened to all international tourists on Nov. 1, 2020.

On June 6, Southwest Airlines re-established its nonstop flight routes to Costa Rica, completing the reestablishment of all U.S. airlines that served nonstop flight service to Costa Rica before the pandemic. Direct flight routes to Costa Rica are now available from more than 20 cities across the world.

While several U.S. airlines launched new routes to Costa Rica, others started new services entirely. Beginning next month through August, Frontier Airlines introduces its service to Costa Rica with two weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays from Miami, and two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Fridays from Orlando. In September, Frontier will increase service from these cities to five weekly flights.
