TORONTO – American Express Canada has once again topped the list of Rewards Canada's Top Travel Rewards Credit Card Overall Category. The American Express Gold Rewards Card has been recognized as the Top Travel Card for the second year in a row; a category that was added for the first time last year. The card was acknowledged for its breadth of travel options, ease of redemptions and flexibility to convert points to frequent travel programs. The Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express also earned the third ranking in the same category and several other American Express Cards received multiple recognitions in the other categories.

Despite having also earned the top spot in 2016, the company has continued to make significant investments over the last year to improve the flexibility and value of the rewards offered to Cardmembers. Through the Membership Rewards program, Cardmembers are able to use options such as Use Points for Purchases to pay for travel and other eligible purchases charged to their Card, and 1:1 transfer to frequent flyer programs like Aeroplan and Avios. Additionally, late last year, the company introduced The Fixed Points Travel Program to Canadian Cardmembers enrolled in the Membership Rewards program which gives them the flexibility to book flights using their points at the same fixed points amount every day of the year, with no restrictions or blackout dates.

- Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express as Top Hotel Credit Card
As well, the American Express Blue Sky Credit Card ranked second in the Top Travel Points Credit Card (with no annual fee) category and the American Express AIR MILES Credit Card ranked fourth in the same category, the Platinum Card from American Express ranked third in the Top Hybrid Credit/Charge Card (with annual fee) category, and the American Express AeroplanPlus Platinum Card ranked fourth in the Top Airline Credit/Charge Card category.
