Expedia has revealed the top 10 vacation destinations Singaporean travellers are flocking to this holiday season. The results are based on recent bookings through the Expedia Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP).
Expedia Singapore TAAP members have tipped their very own island nation at the top of the list with the growing number of travellers choosing to holiday at home. Singapore was closely contested by Hong Kong and neighbours up north, Kuala Lumpur. Other popular destinations that made up the top 10 list are Seoul, London, Bali, Taipei, Penang, Las Vegas and Tokyo.
Seduced by the charm of Europe, travellers are also heading to Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium this holiday season. Exotic destinations such as Tanzania in East Africa and South Africa are also fast becoming holiday hotspots with Singaporeans.
“Travel agents are quickly realizing the rich diversity of travel destinations Expedia offers is simply unbeatable. With over 140,000 hotels to choose from in bustling cities to destinations off the beaten path, we constantly hear our agents commenting they are able to find more availability on Expedia than anywhere else. The choice we provide is simply staggering!” said Charee Guico, Travel Agent Distribution Manager SEA.
“From Singapore to Las Vegas, the list shows that Expedia offers very competitive rates and inventory, both domestic and international,” added Charee.
Almost 500 agents have signed up for TAAP to take advantage of the great inventory and rates Expedia provides to travellers. In less than three months since its launch, a percentage of TAAP agent members have also reached the booking targets and have been upgraded to the Silver and Gold Club status earning a higher commission from Expedia for each booking.
Through TAAP, travel agents are able to tap into Expedia’s immense selection of travel products and services. The programme allows travel agents to book directly through Expedia platform and earn commissions when doing so. The TAAP programme in Singapore currently offers hotel bookings and will launch flights and travel packages officially later in October.
