Flood kills tourists in Thailand

At least 37 tourists have been killed by a sudden flood in two waterfalls in southern Thailand on Saturday (14th April). More than 100 people were swimming in the waters when the torrents struck Sairung and Prai Sawan waterfalls, a popular destination for tourists in the country.



As it is the Buddhist New Year, the waterfalls were full of people celebrating a five day holiday break.

Local police and rescue workers immediately started searching for ten missing people as officials stated. Rescue workers still trying to find survivors.



As Thailand’s Ministry of Health said in a statement all bodies have been identified, including an 18-year-old Laos national and 29 people were injured.
