Barbican Business Events explores AI in partnership with WIRED during London Tech Week

Artificial intelligence (AI) is predicted to be the fourth industrial revolution and the technology is already touching our lives and work, not least in the events industry, where machine learning is increasingly being applied.

In partnership with leading tech sector media outlet WIRED, Barbican Business Events is presenting a special one-day multi-layered learning experience, exploring what the future holds for artificial intelligence and how it will shape our lives on 15th June as part of London Tech Week.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is predicted to be the fourth industrial revolution and the technology is already touching our lives and work, not least in the events industry, where machine learning is increasingly being applied.

Through talks and demonstrations, WIRED Pulse AI at the Barbican will explore a range of topics including AI’s effect on creativity, the ethics of algorithms and why more and more businesses are putting decision-making into the virtual hands of AI.

Presented by editor of WIRED, Greg Williams, and including a special music performance by Reeps One, WIRED Pulse AI at the Barbican will feature an interactive Test Lab and eight high-level keynotes from thought-provoking disruptors including:

  • Cassie Kozyrkov, Google’s Chief Decision Scientist
  • Marcus du Sautoy author of The Creativity Code
  • Vishal Chatrath from CProwler.io
  • Terah Lyons from Partnership on AI
  • Sandra Wachter from Oxford Internet Institute
  • Lucy Yu from FiveAI

Jackie Boughton, Head of Events at Barbican comments: "AI is changing the way we work and deliver not just events but a whole variety of commercial services. This event will explore so many different aspects of AI and consider the many ways it can help us become more efficient, deliver more effectively and above all else support our clients in new and inspiring ways."

Open to all, WIRED Pulse AI at the Barbican takes place at the end of London Tech Week and tickets include entry to the Barbican’s major summer exhibition AI: More Than Human, which features works by a variety of artists and scientists including Massive Attack, Es Devlin, teamLab, Lawrence Lek, Joy Buolamwini, Mario Klingemann, Kode9 and Neri Oxman.
