Bit 2014 goes live – Hosted buyers and pre-registration open

New workshop formula: at-stand meeting diary planned out in advance and included in exhibition package; Hosted Buyer: selection underway, 400 candidates in just the first week, over a thousand expected at Bit BuyItaly.

MILAN – The B2B revolution goes live at Bit 2014, which runs at the Fiera Milano (Rho) from Thursday 13 to Saturday 15 February. Two important ventures are already underway for the increasingly business-oriented new International Tourism Exchange: last week official selection began of hosted buyers; online professional visitor pre-registration started yesterday.

Bit 2014 workshops are strategically integrated into the new exhibition concept to funnel buyers directly to stands via a pre-set meetings diary which leverages the EMP (Expo Matching Program) Digital Diary and is included in the exhibition package.

Top international buyers are thrilled with this new workshop formula. In just the first week more than 400 applications were received from around the globe – from the world’s most dynamic economies Brazil, China, South Korea, India, Indonesia and Thailand, and from long-standing markets like Germany and the US.

Bit 2014 expects the number of hosted buyers to increase to over a thousand at Bit BuyItaly alone. These buyers will be meeting with over 2500 sellers who represent the best that Italy has to offer in tourism. They will be joined by top buyers arriving independently, whose profiles are verified by the organization office.

Thanks to this new approach and the EMP’s broad range of profiling tools, the fact that buyers visit stands enhances effectiveness for exhibitors who meet with new business partners, leveraging Italy-focused products through Bit BuyItaly, group tourism opportunities through Bit BuyClub and – brand-new this year – a sneak preview of what’s on offer for EXPO 2015, the Milan Universal Exposition, through Bit BuyExpo 2015.

The online pre-registration system for professional visitors is open from today to 12 February 2014. It offers inclusive free entry and free matching. The following business areas are invited to apply for selection: Travel agencies, Trade associations, Tourism/Entertainment attractions, Business Travel, Product-focused consortia, Tourism consortia, CRAL worker groups, CRS/GDS/HRSs, DMC/PCO/Incentive Houses, Infrastructure organizations (Ports, Airports, Highways), Financial Investors, Agency networks, OLTAs (Online Travel Agencies), Events organizers, Real Estate operations, Accommodation (Hotel chains, Hotels, B&Bs, Farm accommodation, Camp sites, Convention centres, Historical residences), Tourism-related services, Tourism-related technology, Incoming Tour Operators, Outgoing Tour Operators, Transport companies/Carriers, and Visitor & Convention bureaux.
