New Christmas destinations are now available from British Airways; Zagreb, Croatia and Hanover, Germany.
British Airways has announced the introduction of new flights to Zagreb, Croatia and Hanover, Germany.
The new routes will offer customers the chance to enjoy Christmas market breaks in Europe, with Hanover’s historical old quarter around the Market Church offering a real Christmas experience. Attractively decorated stalls in the area sell Christmas tree decorations, carved items, wooden toys and lovingly produced craftwork. Children can enjoy a puppeteer and storyteller or, for a journey back in time, travellers can explore the historical Christmas village, featuring a wide range of medieval glassblowers, skilled potters and traditional candle makers.
Alternatively, BA customers can make their way to Berlin, the capital city of Christmas Markets, with over 60 to wander around, including the market at Charlottenburg Castle, which boasts over 150 stalls and Winter World at Potzdamer Platz. It also hosts the largest mobile toboggan run in Europe and an ice skating rink for the less daring. There is a great range of hotels available, including the centrally located Holiday Inn Berlin City East-Landsberger which is close to the famous Alexanderplatz.
Travellers can also visit Vienna, a city of nostalgia and romance, concerts and traditional Christmas markets. Well-known for the Magic of Advent Christmas market by City Hall and the traditional Viennese Christmas market on Freyung, the aromas of candied fruits, cotton candy and other delicacies like Christmas punch fill the air with festive aromas. A number of city breaks in Vienna are available this December.
Another popular destination from BA during the festive season is Prague, with tourist attractions and Christmassy treats in a true winter wonderland setting. The Prague Christmas markets run daily and are held at the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. The markets boast brightly decorated huts selling traditional Czech handicrafts and local delicacies.
