British Travel Awards; Celebrating ten years of consumer opinions

This year just shy of 360,000 consumers registered to place their votes and give their opinions on the additional Travel Vision survey which runs alongside the BTA voting categories.

The results of The British Travel Awards for 2017 were announced on 29 November at a glittering gala ceremony in front of almost 1,000 guests from the travel and leisure industry.

147 awards were presented to winners in categories including best travel money retailer, car hire, weddings and honeymoons plus the best tour operators to all regions of the world, coach holiday companies, travel insurance, cruise and best hotels and villas in the UK and overseas. This year  The British Travel Awards also re-introduced the airline category sector and for the first time ever, we recognised the best LGBT Holiday companies.

This year just shy of 360,000 consumers registered to place their votes and give their opinions on the additional Travel Vision survey which runs alongside the BTA voting categories. A whopping 722,473 votes and opinions were cast between 3 July and 30 September 2017. To encourage votes, the BTAs offered consumers the chance to win some fabulous holiday prizes via the BTA Prize Chest, so thanks to all those companies who donated prizes for the prize draw to thank consumers for taking the time to vote.

Since 2008 the BTA votes and processes have been consumer voted, and since 2009 have been verified by leading global business practitioners, Deloitte, to ensure the integrity and transparency of The BTAs is maintained and the winners can be confident that they have been voted the best in their field by validated customer votes. This year saw a more diverse mix of winning companies than ever before, once again recognising small, medium and large companies across many of the categories.
