Click Travel launches ability to hold rail tickets

Click Travel innovates once more by providing the ability to hold rail tickets during the booking process.

Click Travel claims another industry first by adding the ability to hold rail tickets during the booking process. This exciting new development will transform the booking process for business travellers, with users being able to hold a rail ticket and the ticket price for up to 2 hours until they are ready to buy.

This is especially significant for companies with travel policies that include a pre-trip approval process, where staff must gain approval before they are allowed to book. Typically, the price will increase whilst approval is sought, but Click’s latest innovation will avoid this problem by securing the ticket price at the time of enquiry.

The hold process works with all ticket types including Advance Purchase tickets and all delivery mechanisms including ticket on departure.

Held tickets are stored in the user’s online dashboard and can be confirmed with the click of a button. When using Click’s approval process, the user will simply receive an email to let them know their booking has been authorised. If tickets are not confirmed within 2 hours they will be automatically cancelled.

Simon Mclean, Click’s Managing Director said: “Holding rail tickets has been a common feature request from our customers, so we’re delighted to deliver this unique innovation. The seamless integration with our pre-trip approval system is going to be a big hit with both existing and future customers”. He continued “This is yet another example of where developing and controlling all of the technology we deliver to customers enables us to out-innovate our competitors who are compromised by their third party technology”.

This latest development follows a long line of technical innovations pioneered by Click Travel. The award winning company is the only travel management company to own its own rail platform, OpenRail; hence its ability to deliver new innovations to corporate rail travel quickly and seamlessly. The ability to hold UK rail tickets is available through Click’s online booking tool, Travel Cloud and its online rail solution, OpenRail.
