Egyptair reinstates London Heathrow to Luxor direct flight

The reinstatement falls on the back of a significant increase in demand by tourists and Egyptian nationals wanting alternative destination airports, with Luxor highlighted as a key entry point for Egypt.

Egypt’s national carrier EgyptAir has reinstated its service from London Heathrow to Luxor International, commencing 17 February 2014, as a weekly Monday flight.

The reinstatement falls on the back of a significant increase in demand by tourists and Egyptian nationals wanting alternative destination airports, with Luxor highlighted as a key entry point for Egypt.

“At just under five and a half hours from the UK, reinstating the direct flight to Luxor makes perfect sense given the demand from the UK for cultural, historical and adventure-based holidays and experiences.”

“We want to ensure we offer ease of access for tourists to explore Egypt. The direct Luxor service demonstrates that British holidaymakers have a resilient passion and desire for all that Egypt has to offer,” commented Omayma El Husseini, ETA’s Director of UK & Ireland.

“Our flight to Luxor is serviced by a new Boeing 737-800 with 24 business and 120 economy class seats offering individual seatback in-flight entertainment. The combination of a Heathrow departure, generous two piece baggage allowance and a hot meal represents good value for our customers,” stated Mr Salah Kadri EgyptAir GM, U.K. & Ireland.

Once an Ancient Egyptian capital, Luxor is known today as the world’s ‘greatest open-air museum’. From the tomb of Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings and the magnificent sunset views at the majestic temple complexes of Karnak and Luxor, to the exciting and fun Nile cruises, flying into Luxor is the perfect choice for tourists craving culture.
