The Senator and Business Lounge of Lufthansa German Airlines at Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos was celebrating the 100.000 guest since the start of operation. As a surprise happening the guest number 100.000 was escorted from check-in to the Lounge, where Roland Geiger, Manager Airport Services Greece, Cyprus & Israel was congratulating together with V.I.P. guests from the airport, partners from the airline industry as well as suppliers. A special highlight was the presentation of the exhibition of Takis Parlavantzas.
I am really happy that I have the chance today to say thank you to all loyal Frequent and Business Class Flyers in the first place, Mr. Geiger stated. Many gourmet restaurants would be looking forward to an equivalent number of guests he added. Furthermore I would like to use the opportunity to thank also our suppliers and partners at and around the airport for their excellent service.

Two years ago the lounge was the first lounge completed at the new airport on February 27th, 2001, a month before the official inauguration of Eleftherios Venizelos. Dipl. Engineer Loeffler, a well-known architect from Munich, who has been designing several projects for Bertelsmann, Bosch/Siemens, has personally planned and supervised the project.
