2 million passengers and Vote of trust by Volotea to Athens

Volotea flew 2 million passengers in Athens since the start of operating the route.

Volotea reached a big milestone at Athens International Airport this Summer, as Volotea proudly carried 2 million passengers since the start of operations at ATH in 2015.

Valeria Rebasti, International Markets Director together with the airport’s Marketing team and crew celebrated the occasion.

As stated by Volotea, Athens International Airport has been the cornerstone for Volotea largest operations in Greece serving as its dedicated base with significant route opportunities. Volotea is offering more than 680,000 seats this year which is a remarkable 33% increase compared to 2022.

This Summer season, Volotea is operating a network of 17 destinations from Athens including 3 domestic routes, offering a total (International & Domestic) 78 weekly departures.

Due to the attractiveness of destination Athens and Volotea successful operations, the airline decided to upgrade its Athens base to year-round, offering Winter base operations for the first time (Winter 23/24).

With the opportunity of this significant milestone for Volotea, the airline stated “We’d like to thank our partners at Athens Airport and our exceptional team at our base for their support and collaboration in helping us reach this significant milestone and, in the future, as we continue to expand and connect even more passengers to Greece’s beauty and culture and help more and more Greeks discover new cities all over Europe.”
