BCD Meetings & Incentives (BCD M&I) has announced that twenty-year veteran and Managing Director of BCD M&I, UK & Ireland, Robin Smith, will retire as of June 30, 2008. As founder of the legacy UK based Talking Point organisation, which was acquired by BCD M&I in 2006, Smith has been an integral part of leading the integration and launch of the BCD M&I brand both in the UK & Ireland and globally. “I consider myself fortunate to have been the leader of such an inspirational group of meeting professionals and believe the time is right to achieve my own personal retirement objectives” says Smith.
This move will prompt a realignment and integration of the current European structure for BCD M&I, creating a single leadership team of senior managers from both the current UK & Ireland and continental Europe organisations.
“While the vision is to continue to have independent operational and financial responsibilities between the two regions, this new organisation will ensure that customers, suppliers and employees all recognise the benefits and opportunities that can exist under the vision of a single European management team” stated Scott Graf, President, BCD M&I.
To accomplish this vision, Shaun Casey, will expand his current responsibility within the organisation and become Managing Director for the UK&I and EMEA effective June 30th, 2008. Shaun will continue to report to Marc ter Haar, SVP of EMEA.
