According to a new survey, Brits have named Italy the most inspiring country to visit. Famous for its history, culture, art and cuisine, Italy seems to have everything we are looking for. America was voted the second most inspiring place, followed by Australia. France and Greece completed the top five.
And it seems inspiration is closer to home than first thought, as Europe was voted the most inspiring continent due to its diversity, culture and landscape. Asia and Africa took second and third places respectively.
The survey of 2,450 people, conducted by Ambi Pur, also found that it’s the landscape of a location that is considered the most inspiring element (57%) and that sight (50%) and smell (37%) are the senses most likely to trigger a holiday memory. In fact, a quarter of respondents said if they could capture one element of their holiday and bottle it, it would be the smell of the natural landscapes and local restaurants.
