Car hire agencies are expanding at a rapid rate, according to a report from the Athens-based Research Institute,
ICAP`s third report on the car hire industry states that, in Greece, there are around 2,500 such companies whose main problems include the existence of a black market in car hire, unpaid traffic violations (on the part of clients) and the banning by law of hiring out cars with a driver as well as light trucks and mini-buses.
Between 1995 and 1999, the Greek car hire industry grew at a constant rate – 26% on average per year.
