Cyprus Airways partners with UK`s Iago solutions for specialist pilot training

Cyprus Airways – the Cypriot flag carrier – has signed a pilot training deal with UK’s IAGO Solutions – an established partnership of type rating instructors and examiners providing individual commercial airline pilot testing and training services.



As part of the agreement, Cyprus Airways, which operates twice weekly flights from Dubai to Larnaca, will provide take off and landing training to IAGO’s trainee pilots specialising in the Airbus aircraft family.



“IAGO selected Cyprus Airways due to its impeccable safety record and also the fact that the airline was one of the launch customers for the A320 aircraft,” said Stavros Kyprianou, Head – Middle East and Gulf, Cyprus Airways.



“Our pilots are well experienced in operating the Airbus A320 aircraft and this agreement is a reflection of the industry’s confidence in Cyprus Airways.”



The Mediterranean carrier operates an Airbus A319 Dubai – Larnaca non-stop flight every Friday at 0030 hrs in a two-class configuration with 12 business class and 114 economy class seats and reaches Larnaca by 0310 hrs.



The airline operates an Airbus A320 with 156 seats, which departs Dubai every Sunday at 2255 hrs, via Bahrain, and reaches Larnaca 0255 hrs next day, in time for convenient early morning connecting flights to Europe.



The carrier operates 16 weekly flights to London Heathrow and seven additional flights to other London airports – Gatwick and Stansted and flies four times a week to Manchester and twice to Birmingham.



Cyprus Airways serves 23 countries including all major European and Middle East destinations. It also flies to Larnaca from Amman, Bahrain, Beirut, Cairo, Damascus, Jeddah and Riyadh.
