Do major events impact on tourism?

Reflecting the currently growing interest in ‘Event Tourism’ the Tourism Society’s Annual Conference…

Reflecting the currently growing interest in ‘Event Tourism’ the Tourism Society’s Annual Conference in conjunction with The Mersey Partnership will be exploring all types of events from the smallest to the largest, e.g. the Manchester Commonwealth Games 2002, Liverpool 2008 & the Ryder Cup, as case studies.



The audience will comprise tourism and leisure professionals from across the country; speakers include Jason Harborow – Liverpool 2008, Lesley Fraser – ScotlandEvents, Ken Robinson CBE FTS, Roger Pride – The Ryder Cup to name but a few.



The conference, entitled ‘Event Tourism: Panacea or Pandemonium?’ will be held at The Peter Jost Centre at

Liverpool’s JMU on Friday 18th June 2004.
