To help promote Britain as a great value destination to European travellers

easyBus.co.uk and VisitBritain join hands

easyBus has teamed up with VisitBritain, Britain’s National Tourism Agency, to help promote Britain as a great value destination to European travellers. As London’s price-leading low-cost airport transfer travel brand, easyBus will feature alongside other UK travel brands such as easyJet and VisitBritain, in joint public relations, online advertising, offline and microsite initiatives to promote Britain. With Sterling now 30% weaker against most EU currencies compared to 2008 levels, Britain and the London capital are now a much more affordable and attractive option for many EU travellers. The Value Campaign will target travellers contemplating travel to Britain, who will be made more aware of value brands such as easyBus and the other VisitBritain Value Campaign partners for inclusion in their travel planning.

easyBus recently launched a new bus service that runs direct to Gatwick Airport from Fulham Broadway, west London. It has never been easier to get to the wide selection of hotels and bed & breakfasts in the Bayswater, Notting Hill and Earls Court areas. easyBus’ other routes to both Stansted and Luton airports are also sure to be popular with in-bound tourists who choose low-cost airlines, such as easyJet, to fly to Britain this summer.

Jonathan Crick, chief executive, easyBus, said: "offering a great product at unbeatable fares is central to the easyBus brand offering and partnering with VisitBritain for their Value Campaign goes hand-in-hand with easyBus’ aim to make travel into and out of London more affordable for all airline passengers."

With the UK and European holiday season now in full swing, easyBus has also made available its full summer airport bus and coach schedules to tie-in with the holiday season’s flight arrival and departure times. Visit easyBus at www.easyBus.co.uk
Commission approves public financing of infrastructure investments in five regional airports in Tuscany.

Italy’s plan to support infrastructure investments aims to comply with aviation safety standards at Tuscany airports and to develop safe and viable air transport infrastructure, thereby supporting the creation of an integrated regional airport system. The measure will thus enhance the connectivity of the Tuscany region with the trans-European transport networks.

The Commission concluded that the public financing of infrastructure improvements at Tuscany airports do not prejudice the common interest and that the criteria set out in the applicable Community framework[1] are complied with.

The Commission’s approach is in line with the 2007 Action Plan for airport capacity, which emphasises the importance of regional airports to the development of an integrated European air transport network. The availability of an efficient, predictable and sustainable national transport network is a key factor underpinning economic growth and competitiveness.
