The EIBTM 2003 Association Programme held on the first two days of EIBTM (20th-21st May) will be unbeatable, claims Debbie Jackson EIBTM`s Exhibition Director. Building on the successful launch of last year`s EIBTM Association Programme, EIBTM has worked closely with key industry associations to develop a unique education programme for Association Executives which is without doubt the most comprehensive programme ever assembled – the best.

In association with European Society of Association Executives (ESAE), EIBTM is working with Terrance Barkan, Director of European Association Services to target the highest quality Association Executives to personally invite onto this unique educational programme.

Association Executives have limited time as they are very busy professionals and providing a comprehensive educational programme helps them clarify their role in this industry, said Terrance Barkan. This programme brings participants better job satisfaction in a difficult marketplace.

The programme for EIBTM 2003 offers qualified Association Executives complimentary air travel from a European airport, over-night accommodation, full-seminar programme and learning experience plus access to an Association Pavilion and a networking evening.

The Association Pavilion, under the banner Associations Make A Better World, will be available for Association Buyers to network, providing an information source with library and access to Association literature. EIBTM are working with ESAE, MPI, ICCA, and ASAE to ensure that the Pavilion is unique and offers the buyer everything they could need.

For the 2003 EIBTM Association Programme, there are two levels of workshops. One level is available for the CEO, whilst the second level is available for the Meeting Planner. Both workshop programmes will run on 20th and 21st May and will include lunch.

Terrence Barkan presents the CEO`s workshop programme. He will be investigating `Strategic Planning for Associations`, focusing on developing a strategic plan and relating it to meetings and conferences.

The Meeting Planner workshop will have two presentations. Firstly, Marianne Marti, a Client Manager for leading Swiss Association management company GHQ, will be discussing `How Meeting Planners can select a venue which fits into the organisation`s strategic plan`, which covers the subject of `Requests For Proposals`. The second part sees technology expert Corbin Ball, MPI`s 2002 International Supplier of the Year and three-time winner of Meeting News` `The 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry`, presenting on `Technology Choices for Meeting Planners: How do you Choose?` offering advise on choosing the right technology for an organisation.

EIBTM also organises a programme of pre-scheduled appointments with EIBTM exhibitors for the afternoon where attendees can put the morning theory into practice. Association Executives select the exhibitors who they wish to see and EIBTM will provide them with a tailored programme based around their choices – all the work is done for them.

As well as education and business contacts, the EIBTM 2003 Association Programme will offer an opportunity to meet with industry colleagues and socialise at the Association Networking Evening held in conjunction with ICCA, on Tuesday, 20 May 2003 on a boat on Lake Geneva.

ICCA members view the international Association Buyers as one of the most

important market segments attracted to EIBTM, and we are determined to offer them the strongest possible networking and business-to-business environment in which to meet with these clients said Martin Sirk, ICCA`s Chief Executive Officer. We are pleased that Reed Travel Exhibitions has identified this segment for particular attention, and that they are investing in this excellent new networking initiative.

Didier Scaillet, Director for European Operations and Global Development for MPI is keen for MPI members to attend: MPI is delighted to be associated with the development of this important initiative, the EIBTM Association Programme. EIBTM are leading the way with these new initiatives and the Association Programme in Geneva this May will provide our members with an all-important networking and business environment in which to meet their colleagues in the Association Pavilion and during the Networking Evening. The educational sessions are key for helping our members make vital business decisions about the issues they face everyday, commented Didier Scaillet.

Colin Grimes, CEO of ESAE, says: EIBTM is the ideal one stop shop for the incentive market. I come every year with half a million pounds of business from one client. It is a great way to keep up-date with venues and make contact with those already contracted for two or three years down the line. I have done business with Oslo, Budapest and Istanbul the last three years and have come to do business with Italy for 2004. There aren`t any other events where you can do that.
