BAA Glasgow has today welcomed confirmation that SN Brussels Airlines is to launch a new service from Glasgow to Brussels.

The airline will offer 9 flights a week to Brussels, from 2 June.

Stephen Baxter, Managing Director of Glasgow Airport described the new service as a major boost to the city`s financial sector.

He added: This is an important new route for Glasgow. It gives the city direct access to one of Europe`s most important financial centres, and for leisure passengers, it provides new opportunities for city breaks in one of Europe`s most vibrant capital cities.

We are delighted to welcome a European airline with a reputation for quality and network of routes that stretches across the globe. We are talking with a number of other airlines and expect to make further announcements in the near future.

We have made a determined effort to increase the number of direct international flights available from Glasgow, working in partnership with Glasgow City Council and the local Tourist Board. This joined-up approach is winning new routes for Glasgow and helping to put our city on the map as an international destination.
