Hong Kong`s European office is extremely optimistic that European arrivals will hit the pre-SARS 2002 figures this year.

Figures for January and February this year show just a three percent drop compared to the pre-SARS level.

We`re reassured our customers that the market is resilient and we`ve bounced back faster than most markets in the region, said Kevin Welch, regional director – Europe, Africa & the Middle East, Hong Kong Tourism Board.

The exchange rate has moved in our favour. With Hong Kong`s peg to the US dollar, we`re actually 25 percent cheaper than a year ago.
