Hotelzon focusing on technology development in booking agency sector in UK

Hotelzon is changing the focus of its business to specialise in technology and software development for the global lodging and booking agency sector in UK market area. The company has therefore transferred the ownership of its call centre & booking agency services to a long term partner of Hotelzon, Statesman Travel.

Statesman Travel’s acquisition of Hotelzon’s U.K. will see the call centre team relocated to Statesman’s headquarters in central London and further boosts the TMC’s profile following its successful acquisition of Commodore Travel last year.

Hotelzon will operate out of a newly created global headquarters in Richmond, Surrey with subsidiary offices in Finland, Sweden, Romania and Asia Pacific. Senior board members including Jani Kaskinen, Hotelzon’s CEO, will be based in the new London head office along with sales & marketing and project management functions.

Hotelzon’s technology for corporate clients, hotels and agency partners is underwritten with a strategic partnership with Travelport, enabling the company to boast one of the largest online inventories of over 140,000 hotels worldwide.

Jani Kaskinen, CEO of Hotelzon said, “We are looking forward to a bright future in this rapidly changing market. We know where our strengths are and we want to capitalise on the team, the knowledge and our relationships in the sector”.

Mervyn Williamson, Joint Managing Director of Statesman commented “We are excited about the introduction of this new addition to our service and the opportunities that it will present. The team will continue to work closely with Hotelzon and thus both parties will benefit from any future expansion”.
