To meet extra demand for flights to Rome this week, Iberia is using a 404-seat Boeing 747 and a 352-seat Airbus 340-600 on its services between Spain and the Italian capital, where the remains of the late Pope John Paul II lie in state prior to burial on Friday.

The measure adds 1,000 seats per day to Iberia`s normal supply of 1,300 seats on a total of eight daily flights between Spain and Rome, three from

Barcelona and five from Madrid.

The large aircraft will be used on the flights leaving Madrid at 16:10 h. on April 7th and 8th , and returning from Rome at 19:35 on the same days.

To facilitate air travel for Rome-bound passengers this week, on Monday Iberia suspended advance payment conditions on most of its tickets.
