The Local Action Group “Lomellina Terra del Cuore” has organized with Visit Italy a fam trip for European buyers in September. A territory at the border of Piedmont and Lombardy, between the rivers Sesia, Ticino and Po: Lomellina is a land of territorial and cultural resources to be discovered.
Just because of the rich and varied tourism heritage, the Gal – Local Action Group, chaired by Mr. George Guardamagna, has decided to focus on a coordinated and effective promotion of the territory, working alongside the farmers and private entrepreneurs who own accommodation properties and provide the public an offer of excellence.
The arabesques of ordered channels, ditches, and cables that cross the landscape of Lomellina make it a resource and a treasure itself. The water, land, rice fields, the heronries, the forests: a constant stream connects the ever broken Lomellina nature since the past centuries and, despite the man has changed the environment to make it suited to his needs, he has always complied with the particularity.
The territory of Lomellina, however, is also rich with cultural and artistic features: the Abbey of Acqualunga, the ancient centers of Rosasco, Breme and Lomello, the widespread natural reserves and numerous farmsteads let the land in fact contribute to making this place the bearer of a historical heritage of the maximum importance.
In this context, an exceptional event scheduled for the Gal Lomellina during the month of September is, in this regard, the fam trip (familiarization trip) organized in conjunction with Visit Italy for a very select and limited number of tourism professionals from Germany, Austria , Switzerland, the Netherlands and Eastern Europe, buyers interested in discovering Lomellina and its tourism potential in order to effectively put it in their catalogues.
The international buyers, representatives of tour operators, travel agencies and private associations taking part in the fam trip will have the opportunity, from September 9th to 12th 2012, to try and discover the potential of a territory, Lomellina, offering the visitor a combination of large and very large landscapes merging between nature and culture as in few other regions in Italy.
