Lufthansa to offer significantly improved connections between Jakarta and Europe

Lufthansa German Airlines will offer its passengers from Indonesia vastly improved connections to Europe

Lufthansa German Airlines will offer its passengers from Indonesia vastly improved connections to Europe from 28 March 2005 when it flies to Europe via Bangkok. At Bangkok, passengers can connect to Lufthansa flights to either of its two major European hubs, Frankfurt or Munich, both of which offer a huge number of connections around Europe and beyond.

The Lufthansa flights departing Bangkok for Frankfurt and Munich are ideally timed, allowing passengers from Jakarta between 45 minutes to an hour to board the flight of their choice to Frankfurt or Munich — a perfect transit time. At Frankfurt, passengers can then choose flights to 151 onward destinations and from Munich to 95 onward destinations. Both Frankfurt and Munich are ideally located at the centre of Europe.

The return flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Bangkok both arrive approximately one hour before the Lufthansa flight departs to Jakarta, again ensuring passengers do not have to spend unnecessary time waiting in transit.

Mr. Ronald Schulz, Lufthansa German Airlines General Manager for Indonesia, said, Our new routing to Europe via Bangkok will provide passengers from Indonesia with greatly enhanced efficiency and a far wider range of possible destinations worldwide. It is just one of the ways we are continually enhancing our network to show our passengers there is no better way to fly than Lufthansa.

Lufthansa flights from Jakarta to Europe currently operate via Singapore. Passengers from Jakarta who wish to travel directly to Singapore can of course still do so via Lufthansa`s Star Alliance partner Singapore Airlines which offers more than 50 flights a week on that route.

The new route from Jakarta via Bangkok will also of course provide an excellent new service for tourists who wish to visit the exciting capital of Thailand with its huge array of popular tourist attractions.
