MVP and VisitBritain to launch new Britain planner publication

Morris Visitor Publications in Europe (MVP), the leading publisher of visitor magazines for the international and domestic tourist and corporate traveller markets, and VisitBritain, the national tourism agency, announce the planned publication of a new visitor magazine – Britain Planner – designed to showcase the diversity of Britain as a tourist destination.

Britain Planner will be launched in June 2009 with a special, bumper summer issue targeting those visitors with an interest in leisure travel to and within the UK. With a worldwide presence – 75% overseas and 25% across Britain – distribution partners include VisitBritain, UKinbound, the UK Borders Agency and the Visa Facilitation Service (VFS), the Commercial Agent of the UK Borders Agency. Britain Planner will be distributed internationally by VisitBritain’s respective overseas offices and by other exclusive distribution partners, by UKinbound members and, within Asia, the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent, by VFS. Across the UK, Britain Planner will also be available in VisitBritain’s Tourist Information Centres (TICs) nationwide and at The Britain & London Visitor Centre, 1 Regent Street. This special edition, covering the high season months throughout 2009, will be followed by quarterly Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter editions from 2010 onwards, as well as the launch of Britain Planner online.

Britain Planner will be an indispensable, full colour, pocket-sized guide with an editorial layout divided into sections representing the nations and regions of Britain (e.g. Scotland, Wales, London, South West England, East of England, Cumbria and the North West etc). Packed with themed editorial features, core subject areas will include culture, sports, arts and festivals, heritage sites and cities, seasonal events plus shopping and dining.

Kenny Boyle, VisitBritain’s Director of Distribution Services, said: "The London Planner has been a big success so introducing a guide to cover the national angle can only encourage inbound and domestic travellers to explore more of the fantastic events and activities that they can get involved in across Britain. The compact Britain Planner will be an appealing resource to visitors who want seasonal information, insider tips and practical advice about what’s going on not just in the capital but across the country as a whole."

“Britain Planner will serve as an invaluable informational tool for visitors planning their trip to the UK. It will generate timely editorial and increased interest in Britain as the run-up to the London Olympics gains momentum, and will offer unique marketing and promotional opportunities for the broader travel trade and tourism industry. Morris Visitor Publications are immensely proud to be publishing this unique guide to the UK in partnership with VisitBritain”, added Chris Manning, Managing Director, Morris Visitor Publications Europe.

This official planning guide to Britain compliments the company’s growing list of visitor magazines and guides, which include VisitBritain and Visit London’s London Planner, the Where and IN London brands and WhereTraveller.com for online and mobile phone devices.
