Olympic Airways<.>, proving wrong those who claimed that the company would prove unable to take over the ground handling at Spata (Athens New International Airport), is delighted to announce their award of the Tender to provide ground handling services to third party airlines at the new Athens International Airport, `Eleftherios Venizelos`, being part of the integrated services provided, widening in this way its field of activities.

According to the outcome of the three tender procedures concerning ground handling, cargo and fuel into-plane handling services, Olympic was chosen for all three activities. Apart from handling and cargo, it is the first time that the company enters the fuel market, participating with 65% in the joint venture chosen for fuel into plane services. As far as cargo concerned OA claimed and was awarded the service thanks to its highly automated Cargo Terminal of a value of GRD 6 billion.

The award of all three tender procedures not only signifies the establishment of the company at the new airport, but also proves its ability to face the challenges of very hard competition. Moreover, the selection of the company, signifies the acknowledgement of its high quality ground handling services provided to its customers, among which many renowned for the quality of services provided and demanding of their handling agents, such as Alitalia, Air France, British Airways, Delta Airlines, Emirates, Gulf Air, and Singapore Airlines.
