One more award for the Athens International Airport

AIA`s Corporate Services Division has been awarded with the Committed to Excellence distinction from the European Foundation Quality Management

AIA`s Corporate Services Division has been awarded with the Committed to Excellence distinction from the European Foundation Quality Management (EFQM), acknowledging the level of its business and the quality of human resources services issues.

The Committed to Excellence distinction is a success for AIA who treats its human capital as the driving force of the company, not on the principle of `control`, but by gaining the employees` active participation and contribution to the ongoing dialogue regarding the planning, the strategy, the systems and the values of the company.

The EFQM model is a useful ally in Athens International Airport`s continuous quest for business excellence. AIA

participates in the programme for 3 years in a row – IT&T department has already achieved the distinctions Committed to Excellence in 2002 & Recognized to Excellence in 2003.

During the EFQM Levels of Excellence event, that took place on Thursday, June 3rd, at Athinais Multiple Activity Centre in Athens, Mrs Panayiotopoulou (president of EEDE board of directors) and Mr. Avlonas (special advisor EEDE-EFQM) presented the award to Mr. Panayiotis Perreas, AIA`s Manager, Labour Relations & Document Management Services.

It is worth noting that this is the 2nd significant distinction for AIA`s human resources services, following the KPMG awards (April 2003) honouring the Airport Company for its significant activity in the field of human resources training and development.

Mr. P. Perreas, AIA`s Manager, Labour Relations & Document Management Services (left of picture), received the award, in the framework of the special EFQM ceremony.
