SAS and Icelandair enter code-share agreement

SAS and Icelandair have entered into a partnership agreement that includes code-share on a number of routes, providing better connections to and from Iceland, and reciprocal frequent flyer benefits. The partnership comes into effect November 8, and includes code-share on routes beyond SAS’ hubs of Copenhagen and Stockholm to Berlin, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Milan, Munich, Vilnius, Zurich and Warsaw.

"This code-share agreement provides smoother connections from northern Europe to Iceland via SAS’ Copenhagen and Stockholm hubs, and also now at a more competitive price," says Robin Kamark, Chief Commercial Officer, SAS.

"This agreement gives us an opportunity to provide our customers with a whole new range of services and destinations and we look forward to further enhancing our cooperation with Scandinavian Airlines", says Helgi Mar Bjorgvinsson, Icelandair’ SVP of Sales and Marketing.

Early 2011, Icelandair will also become a partner of SAS’ frequent flyer program EuroBonus, whilst SAS becomes a partner of Icelandair’s Saga Club.
