Self drive tour company France Just For You introduces smartphone technology

All France Just For You travelers will now have free internet and GPS access via smartphone for the duration of their trip.

FRANCE – French self-drive tour company, France Just For You, has partnered up with Insidr and is now including a smartphone in their self-drive tour travel packs. Previously, travelers had reported high international roaming fees from their cellphone providers and no access to GPS on their phones, so these customized smartphones have provided the solution.

"I had been looking for a way to solve the GPS problem for a while." says Emilie Thyebaut, owner of France Just For You. "So I was delighted when Insidr contacted me about working in partnership. We now have smartphones which are specially designed for our self-drive tours, with popular apps such as Google Maps, Facebook and Uber pre-installed. Travelers can also access the digital version of their personalized France Just For You guidebook through the smartphone."

This innovation bodes well with the way people are now using their smartphones when it comes to travel. A survey of 1,000 US mobile users found that 66 percent of respondents chose to use their smartphones over computers when trip-planning, with 85 percent saying they used their mobile devices to book travel activities. 60 percent of respondents from the same survey said they used navigation apps such as Waze or Google Maps while traveling, while 54 percent used their smartphones to search for restaurants while on the road.

The Insidr smartphone also means that travelers need not worry about not speaking the local language or getting lost during their trip. Insidr's technology combined with France Just For You's expertise has it all covered. If travelers run into technical or logistical difficulties, both companies are always at the end of the phone.

Travelers can pick up their Insidr smartphone from Charles de Gaulle international airport in Paris, or France Just For You can ship it to the accommodation at the first stop on their travelers' itinerary. At the end of their trip, travelers only need to place it in the pre-paid addressed envelope provided and post it back. As one traveler put it, having the Insidr smartphone was 'like having a new best friend in France'.
