The visit of president Bush to Germany will have only slight impact on FRA`s air traffic

The visit of U.S. President George W. Bush on February 23 will only slightly impact operations at Frankfurt Airport

The visit of U.S. President George W. Bush on February 23 will only slightly impact operations at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Flight operations will continue as scheduled because the air space around FRA will only be closed to small aircraft that depend on visual flying procedures.

The Frankfurt Airport site, including parking facilities and passenger terminals, will be accessible as usual. However, road-traffic jams can be expected around the airport beca use sections of some autobahns and other roads west and northwest of FRA will be closed for specific periods. Thus, passengers and their meeters and greeters should allow for a significantly longer trip to and from the airport on this day. During the landing of the presidential aircraft, as well as its take-off in the afternoon, some flights at FRA could also be delayed.

Continuously updated information about traffic diversions and temporary closures on sections of the autobahns and roads can be found on the police Web sites of the federal states of Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate: www.polizei.hessen.de and www.polizei.rlp.de.
