TTG INCONTRI-TTI. The numbers of the most important b2b event of the year.

Sixty-eight foreign countries and 30% more exhibition space: TTG Incontri is gearing up for a truly international 42nd edition and this is underscored by the participation of the WTO (World Tourism Organization). Some 17 countries will be making their debut at this event: Barbados, Bangladesh, Belize, China, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guadalupe, Indonesia, Libya, Nicaragua, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Armenia, Mongolia and Hawaii, while the total number of exhibitors will be 1,500.

Some 470 international buyers from 50 countries are expected to attend TTI, the “Destination Italy” workshop. During the two days of the event they will meet the 700 Italian exhibitors at a total of 14,100 pre-set appointments.

Among the international tour operators there is a major increase in the numbers from Japan (17 operators) and a return from the American market with 67 US buyers, while there will be 14 delegates from India and 41 Italian buyers which is a sign of the significant interest of Italian inbound operators in “Destination Italy.”

TTG Forum. For the 3° edition an innovative formula and special guests

The 3rd edition of the TTG Forum events will have a new look this year. As leading industry professionals – industry players who have to come to terms every day with the issues under discussion – have been chosen to moderate the meetings. The aim being to give these forums a stronger operative connotation and allow the speakers, who have been called to come to terms directly with the market, to be more concrete. Five events are planned: two forums, a destination focus, a seminar and a workshop.

The programme will kick off with a debate of the new consumer entitled NoTarget (from the consumer to the individual: personalised products and communications for a client who is increasingly more difficult to pinpoint). Giorgio Brenna, chairman of Leo Burnett and Alberto Magnani, sales director of Demoskopea will be interviewed by Alessandro Biasi, marketing manager of Turisanda/Hotelplan. During this forum Demoskopea will present, in exclusive for TTG Incontri, an analysis on “How the travel consumer is changing.”

The second forum has a strongly technical nature. Entitled “Booking online: internet and low costs change the rules of the game” and will consist of three sessions. During the first session Mkt Consulting will illustrate the reactions to the tourism chain that the Internet and the low-cost airlines have triggered off in the industry, in the framework of travel bookings. During the second session Mario Cardone, vice president of the Sabre Travel Network for Southern Europe, a leading tourism IT company, will be interviewed on the current revolution in the field of travel bookings. At the third session Gianni Rotondo, director general of Tui online Italia, which is 100% held by the Tui Group, will interview Alexis Bonte, managing director of Lastminute.com Italia and Roberto Riccio, Italian boss of Opodo on the issue: “Strategies, the difficulties and opportunities for suppliers of tourism products and services in the rapport with the on-line agencies.

This time the focus destination will be Libya, with a convention focusing on the investment opportunities in this country, whose economic scenario will be presented by the Tripoli delegate of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade. Other novelties are the first edition of TravelMarketing, a tourism communications and marketing workshop and a sales seminar on Libya reserved for retailers.

A day devoted to Libya as an emerging tourist destination: investment and sales opportunities. The session will be opened by the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade.

A forum devoted to the investment opportunities in Libya, a sales seminar for retailers, and a photographic exhibition by an exceptional photographer, Mario Verin, in collaboration with the magazine Weekend Viaggi. These will be the three highlights of the day TTG Incontri will devote to Libya on Saturday 15th October, 2005.

The event will kick off with the paper read by the Tripoli delegate of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade on the investment opportunities in tourist structures and infrastructure and will involve those concerns which have already invested in the country. The forum is organised in collaboration with the Italo-Libyan tour operator Dar Sahara. The second part of the day will be devoted to the sales strategies for Libya as a tourist destination: tour operators Turisanda and Drive Out/Naar, in collaboration with TTG Italia, will explain to retailers how and to whom the destination should be proposed. This appointment is entitled: Libya, instructions for use.

The inauguration of TravelMarketing, the first Italian workshop on communications and marketing for tourism concerns.

Communications and marketing expertscome to the aid of tourism concerns. The problems of brand imaging which the industry is suffering from has inspired this new TravelMarketing event, the first Italian workshop on corporate communications reserved to the tourist industry, organised by TTG Italia in collaboration with Unicom, the National Union of Communications Companies.

The first edition of TravelMarketing will be inaugurated at the same time as the opening of TTG Incontri/TTI, on 14th October in the RiminiFiera pavilions.

Many leading Italian communications and marketing concerns will attend the workshop, meeting and discussing issues with the tour operators present at the fair. An occasion to exchange ideas and make new contacts at an event which arose out of the need to bring together the various industry players on both sides of the fence.
